Brief and proposals
Once you choose the contest you want to participate in, you’ll be ready to present your proposals. But first remember these simple guidelines:
Read the brief carefully
The brief is the accurate description of what the client needs and wants to be created. Read it carefully and if you have any doubts, ask them questions. Reading the brief carefully is about ensuring quality designs.
Original proposals
Clients need YOUR ideas. Don’t copy from other entries. A Client would be far from impressed and this would play against your good reputation. Tip: if you are using images protected by license (iStockPhoto, Shutterstock, etc…), inform the client that he will need to acquire the license of the image.
Don’t wait till the last sec
Clients will give advice starting based on what’s in front of him. The winning design could be yours with just some small modifications. Then, give him the chance to see your style and give yourself the chance to improve your design.
Clean contests
Please don’t upload entries with illicit or obscene content (terms and conditions): we are not that kind of community. Iamasource is all about high quality design.
You and the Other
As a user of IamaSource you have a personal profile at your disposal and you have the possibility to communicate with all the users of the community. Remember these tips:
Keep your profile up to date
IamaSource gives you great visibility with potential clients from all over the world, so keep your profile up to date with your best artwork. Use your portfolio wisely, you’ll also be evaluated on that.
Be Polite
Reputation is very important at IamaSource and the best way to have a good reputation is to be polite and professional with others: no different from everyday life.
No Spam
Remember that spam is not allowed on IamaSource neither through private messages nor through contest discussions or any other form. Spam will result in automatic account termination.
Multiple accounts
Boring and useless stuff. Don’t spread your reputation as a good client on more accounts. It would be foolish.
Payment and file transferring
If you win a contest remember to pay attention to these last two steps: payment method and file transferring.
Only guaranteed contests
On IamaSource, each contest has a winner because the client has already paid for that. By the time the brief is published on IamaSource, the entire budget has in fact already been paid by the client and it is held by Iamasource until a winner is chosen. This ensures designers that the winner always receives the full budget. Only in case there are less than 10 designers who participate in a contest, does the client have the possibility not to choose a winner. To avoid this, as a designer, talk about us with your creative friends: IamaSource is a great opportunity for them also, they will thank you.
Payment
IamaSource transfers the entire budget to winning designers through PayPal. If you have not yet opened a PayPal account, it’s simple and fast. Click here to learn how.
Files Transferring
If the client chooses your entry as the winner you are required to upload the complete files requested in the Brief (generally the AI files, EPS, JPG, PSD). You can upload these files directly from your IamaSource profile. These files will be received by the client and then we will pay the budget to you. So be careful to send the correct files.
Copyright
If you’re the winner you’ll need to release the usage rights of your proposal to the client, complying with the terms and conditions accepted when you registered your account. After the contest is won, you wont be able to change your mind!
